About

Flashback is a 1992 cinematic platformer developed by Delphine Software and published by U.S. Gold, first released for the Amiga before being ported to numerous other systems and later remastered. REminiscence / REinforced is an enhanced fork of REminiscence, the Flashback (1992) engine re-implementation, based on version 0.4.6 and maintained separately by Alex Chermenin. It supports the PC (DOS/CD), Amiga, and Macintosh releases of Flashback, though Amiga/Macintosh support is still experimental, and adds Russian to the languages the original REminiscence supported.

How it differs from the original

Reorganizes save and music data into dedicated SAVE and TUNES directories rather than the current directory, adds a new adjacent-blur widescreen mode, and adds Russian-language support not present in the original REminiscence.

Getting started

Requires the original Flashback game data files (PC, Amiga, or Macintosh release) in a DATA directory; run the fb executable with options like --datapath, --savepath, --tunepath, --widescreen, or --language, and use the arrow keys plus Shift/Enter/Escape to play.

History

REinforced is maintained by Alex Chermenin as a separate continuation of Gregory Montoir's original REminiscence project.

Requires original assets. Requires original game data files from PC, Amiga, or Macintosh release of Flashback.
