Shining Force is a 1992 Sega Genesis tactical role-playing game by Climax Entertainment and Sonic! Software Planning, the second entry in the Shining series, primarily fantasy-themed with some science-fiction elements. SF1DISASM is a fully commented disassembly of Shining Force, documented through inline assembly comments and an accompanying wiki covering ROM/RAM maps and data formats. Given the original US ROM, its split and build tools can reproduce a bit-perfect copy of the original ROM, and the disassembly can also be edited as a starting point for fan projects.
Getting started
Requires the original US Shining Force ROM: the project's split tool extracts data chunks not included in the disassembly, and its build tool reassembles everything into a ROM identical to the original release, playable in an emulator or on original hardware.
