About
Silent Hill 2 is a 2001 survival horror game developed by Konami's Team Silent for PlayStation 2, following James Sunderland's journey to the town of Silent Hill after a letter from his dead wife; it was ported to Windows in 2002, remastered in 2012, and remade by Bloober Team in 2024. This is a large community enhancement package for the original PC release of Silent Hill 2, adding a 60 FPS mode, a rewritten CriWare audio engine, Direct3D9 support, widescreen and dynamic resolution support, CRT shaders, and gamepad/XInput support, along with dozens of individual fixes to visuals, audio, and cutscenes that restore behavior closer to the PS2 version. It requires a legitimate copy of Silent Hill 2 to function and is under active development.
