Silent Hill 3 is a 2003 survival horror game developed by Konami's Team Silent for the PlayStation 2, built on the engine of 2001's Silent Hill 2. memory of alessa is a matching decompilation project for the PlayStation 2 version of Silent Hill 3, aiming for byte-for-byte matching source code for the game and for the Silent Hill 2 engine it is built on. It also sets out to document the technical history of Team Silent's PS2 engine. The authors describe it as being in early stages.

Getting started

This is a development project, not a playable port. Building it requires your own Silent Hill 3 v1.02 (NTSC-U, SLUS_206.22) disc, from which two files are copied into the repository; the build runs on Linux or macOS with Python, and on Windows through WSL.

Requires original assets. Requires Silent Hill 3 v1.02 (NTSC-U) disc with serial SLUS_206.22 and B0.MFA file.
