About
Super Methane Bros. is a 1993 Amiga action game by Apache Software, gameplay-similar to Taito's Bubble Bobble and compared by contemporary reviewers to Data East's Tumblepop. This is an AmigaOS 4/SDL2 conversion of Super Methane Bros., based on an existing SDL1 port, supporting two players, joystick input, and a 640x480 display scaled up from the original's 320x256 resolution.
How it differs from the original
It upscales the game to 640x480 from the original's native 320x256 resolution, and adds optional command-line settings — windowed mode, disabling VSYNC, and a graphics smoothing filter — that weren't part of the original release.
Getting started
It's built with the AmigaOS4 build tooling in the project's amigaos4 directory, then launched with optional flags for windowed mode, disabling VSYNC if performance is poor, or a graphics smoothing filter.
