About

Super Methane Bros. is a 1993 Amiga action game published by Apache Software, playing similarly to Taito's Bubble Bobble and compared by contemporary reviewers to Data East's Tumblepop. This is a homebrew, multi-console port of Super Methane Brothers, in which two players named Puff and Blow trap enemies in gas clouds, suck them into their guns, and throw them against walls to destroy them across 100 floors of the Tower of Time. It's been ported to GameCube, Wii, Switch, and 3DS, each built with that platform's own homebrew devkit, and ships with its own assets rather than requiring the original game's files.

Getting started

Build it for your target platform (3DS, Switch, Wii, or GameCube) with the matching homebrew devkit, then run it on real hardware or in an emulator; controls vary slightly per system, but generally use the Fire button to shoot and suck up gas clouds.

History

The GameCube port originally released in November 2012, followed by a Wii/GameCube update the same year; a Switch port followed in April 2018, and a 3DS port in July 2019.
