About
Arkanoid is a 1986 arcade block-breaker by Taito that revitalized Atari's earlier Breakout concept and was widely ported to home systems including the Commodore 64, NES, and ZX Spectrum. TecnoballZ is a brick-breaker game ported from the Commodore Amiga to Linux, offering 50 regular levels plus 11 special levels across two game modes, with a weapon-upgrade system built from bonuses collected during play, plus its own graphics, music, and sound.
Getting started
It's built and installed on Linux via the standard `./bootstrap && ./configure && make && make install` sequence, requiring SDL 1.2, SDL_mixer, SDL_image, Mikmod, and TinyXML.
History
TecnoballZ originated on the Commodore Amiga and has been maintained by TLK Games since 1991, with this Linux port copyrighted through 2016.
