Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny, released in March 1988, is the fifth entry in the Ultima role-playing series. Britannia's king Lord British has gone missing, replaced by the tyrant Lord Blackthorn, and the player must navigate a world enforcing its virtues through draconian means. Ultima 5 Redux is a C#-based remake of Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny, described as mostly true to the original, built using the original Ultima V data files rather than reimplementing the game's content from scratch. It's distributed as prebuilt packages for Windows, macOS, and Linux (with separate OpenGL and Vulkan Linux builds).
Getting started
Players download the release for their operating system, unpack it, and run the included executable directly — Windows and macOS users may need to approve an operating-system trust prompt the first time it runs.
