Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny, released in March 1988, is the fifth entry in the Ultima role-playing series, in which the player must confront the tyrant Lord Blackthorn after Britannia's king Lord British goes missing. Ultima V Remastered is a build system that turns the player's own original C64 Ultima V disk images into EasyFlash, 1581, or BackBit cartridge/disk versions of the game, reproducing the original Ultima V music in the process.
How it differs from the original
Beyond reproducing the original, it adds functionality not present in the 1988 release, including a save-game editor and tools to import and export save games.
Getting started
Building requires placing a specific set of original C64 Ultima V disk images into a designated folder and running the build command; the resulting cartridge and disk images appear in a build subdirectory, and an optional command (requiring Python's Pillow and PyYAML libraries) can generate map images of the game world.
