Space Invaders is a 1978 fixed shooter arcade game by Taito, one of the earliest games in the genre, in which the player defeats descending waves of aliens using a horizontally moving laser cannon. UNIL Invaders is a browser-based Space Invaders clone built as a joke inspired by the Facebook group 'EPFL memes'. It uses the gameQuery jQuery plugin and SoundManager 2 for sound, with Facebook integration via the Facebook PHP SDK for features like saving scores.
