The Settlers III is a 1998 real-time strategy city-building game by Blue Byte, the third entry in The Settlers series, later re-released in Gold and History editions bundling its two expansions. X-Settlers is an early-stage, work-in-progress C++17 rewrite/re-imagining of The Settlers III and IV, aiming to eventually run on Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, and Raspberry Pi. Its current status is unplayable, with camera controls and terrain texture-atlas rendering implemented so far; loading original Settlers III graphics and maps directly, and a full game-logic implementation, are listed as planned but not yet done.
