About

Anodyne is a 2013 game made by Analgesic Productions. This is the complete, official source-code and asset repository for Anodyne, compiled by the original team in 2020. It includes the full Flixel-based codebase (built with FlashDevelop and Adobe AIR), the level data, the music and sound assets, and the source for DAME, the custom level editor used to build the game's levels.

Getting started

Building and running it requires the FlashDevelop IDE together with Adobe AIR tooling; packaging scripts are included for producing a Windows executable or a mobile build, and there is also a way to test a mobile-sized version with on-screen touch controls. The DAME level editor must be built separately from its included source if you want to edit or create level data.

History

The source was first compiled and shared by original developer Melos Han-Tani in April 2020; as of September 2023 the license was loosened so that anyone can use the code and assets even without owning the original game, though the team asks that players buy a copy before playing identical remakes built from it.
