Dr. Mario is Nintendo's official puzzle game, which this project was later renamed to match; the source material gives no further description of it. BUGS (also distributed as this Dr. Mario clone) is a terminal-based puzzle game written in K&R C using ncurses for Linux, placed in the Public Domain; it remains playable today after being updated to conform to C99 and POSIX.1b in 2015.
History
The game began around July 1991 as 'BUGS I,' was renamed 'Dr. Mario' by Scott Noecker in mid-1992 to match Nintendo's game of the same name, and received a Linux port shortly after from Ken Corey; development was revived in November 2015 by Grandpa's Code, who updated it to conform to C99 and POSIX.1b.
