About

This repository contains two games: CaveExpress, a physics-based 2D platformer where players fly a pedal-powered aircraft to pick up and deliver packages to cave-dwelling clients while avoiding mastodons and pterodactyls, and CavePacker, a Sokoban-style puzzle game where players push (but never pull) packages onto targets, aiming for the fewest possible steps. Both include built-in map editors and multiplayer support (including network play for CavePacker), both have browser-playable versions, and both run on Linux, macOS, Windows, Android and the web.

How it differs from the original

CavePacker's puzzle maps are sourced from the classic XSokoban and KSokoban collections (the sasquatch and microban maps by David W. Skinner, and the 'gri*' maps by GRIGoRusha), plus an additional set of network-multiplayer maps created by the project's own author and released into the public domain / CC0.

Getting started

Nightly builds are available from the project's GitHub Actions, or a stable release can be installed via Debian's package manager (caveexpress and cavepacker packages) or downloaded from GitHub Releases; both games are also playable directly in a browser. An in-game console can be opened with Shift+Tab to run commands or view and change configuration variables.
