About
QuakeWorld is the dedicated online multiplayer mode of the first-person shooter Quake. ezQuake is a modern QuakeWorld client that combines features from various established QuakeWorld clients, adding modern graphics, QTV spectating support, a server browser, a multiview mode, customizable HUD elements, and scripting support. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, and FreeBSD via SDL2, ships with only minimal game media by default (fuller media packages are available separately via the nQuake installer), and is actively maintained with nightly builds.
Getting started
You need the original Quake data files pak0.pak and pak1.pak. The project documents several install paths: extracting the ezQuake executable into an existing Quake install, upgrading an existing nQuake installation, or doing a clean install by creating an id1 subfolder and copying the pak files into it.

Additional notes
- Troubleshooting
- If installing over an existing directory triggers a missing glide2x.dll error, the fix is to delete the leftover opengl32.dll file from the Quake directory.

- The project has an active Discord community and an IRC channel (#ezquake on QuakeNet) for support.
