About
FQuake3 was an attempted F# implementation of id Software's Quake III Arena, targeting 32-bit Windows and mixing F# with C via Mono. It required a commercial copy of Quake III Arena (and Team Arena) to run, and was discontinued before reaching a playable state.
History
The author put the project to rest, calling it their most ambitious project and 'a bit over my head' most of the time, but credits it with teaching them math, functional programming, game engine development, and language interop.
Known limitations
- development: Project has been abandoned in pursuit of other goals; most of the implementation is incomplete.
