About

Pong is Atari's 1972 arcade sports game, created by Allan Alcorn as a training exercise assigned by Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell. Mief is a Pong clone written in Rust for two local players, each controlling a paddle on opposite sides of the field. It currently offers only an endless mode with no menu, and the author marked it as a work in progress; the repository is now archived.

How it differs from the original

Ball and paddle speeds increase repeatedly during play, and the field resizes with the window. There is no computer opponent, and a new game requires quitting and restarting the program.

Getting started

Install Rust, clone the repository and start it with Cargo in release mode; an optional build feature shows the frame rate. Player 1 moves with W and S, player 2 with the Up and Down arrow keys, and Esc quits.
