About

Bomberman is a video game franchise created at Hudson Soft by Yuji Tanaka, Toshiyuki Sasagawa and Shinichi Nakamoto, now owned by Konami. Mr.Boom is a Bomberman clone converted from DOS assembly to C with the asm2c tool, packaged as a RetroArch/Libretro core and as a standalone SDL2 or SDL1.2 build. It runs on all RetroArch platforms, including Android, Linux, macOS, Windows, Switch, Wii, PS3, PSP and Xbox, and even on the Atari Falcon.

How it differs from the original

It supports up to 8 players with netplay, and adds AI bots written in C++, bomb pushing, remote controls, kangaroo riding and Color, Sex or Skynet team modes.

Getting started

Load it as a core in RetroArch, or build the standalone SDL2 version on macOS, Linux or Windows (MSYS2) following the build steps in the README. Netplay matches are organized on the RetroArch Discord.
