About
Perimeter is KD Lab's 2004 real-time strategy game, set after humanity's Exodus civilization has abandoned a dying Earth, built around a distinctive 'terraforming' mechanic that lets players reshape the battlefield terrain itself. This is KD Lab's own official open-source release of the Perimeter engine and code on GitHub, paired with an official Steam re-release. Steam's own listing notes that Perimeter's original GameSpy-based online play was shut down; players can still connect via LAN, DirectIP, or GameRanger instead.
Getting started
Play through Steam — GameSpy multiplayer matchmaking is gone, so use LAN, DirectIP, or GameRanger to play online instead. The officially open-sourced engine is also available to build from source via the GitHub repository.
