About
Lemmings is a 1991 puzzle and strategy game developed by DMA Design and published by Psygnosis for the Amiga, later ported to many other platforms. Pingus is a free Lemmings clone for GNU/Linux, Windows and other operating systems supported by SDL2, released under the GPLv3+. It is built and run through the Nix package manager, which can also cross-build Windows executables from Linux.
How it differs from the original
It is a free clone and does not require any data from the original game.
Getting started
On Linux, the game can be downloaded, compiled and started with one Nix command. Windows builds, including zipped redistributables, are produced by cross-compiling from a Linux host with Nix.

- Experimental ports for the R36S handheld, Android and WebAssembly exist, but full GLES2/WebGL rendering is not finished yet, and the WebAssembly build has no real audio by default.
