About

Pong is Atari's 1972 arcade sports game, created by Allan Alcorn as a training exercise for co-founder Nolan Bushnell and credited with helping launch the commercial video game industry. Pong Game is a PyGame (Python) recreation of table tennis with its own custom graphics and sound effects, supporting single-player (one player controls both paddles) and local two-player modes. It includes pause/resume, a countdown timer, on-screen scoring, and a game-over/replay flow after five missed hits.

How it differs from the original

Unlike the original's bare-bones presentation, this version adds sound effects, a pause/countdown system, and a post-match winner screen with a replay button.

Getting started

Ready-to-play Windows and Linux builds are available from SourceForge or GitHub Releases. The left player moves their paddle with W/S, the right player (or second player in two-player mode) uses the Up/Down arrow keys, and a match ends after five total missed hits.
