This repository contains Jordan Mechner's original 6502 assembly source code for Prince of Persia, written for the Apple II between 1985 and 1989 and first released by Broderbund Software in 1989. Mechner personally published the archive as a piece of computer history, not as a grant of rights to the ongoing Ubisoft franchise.
History
The source code was recovered by the Internet Archive's Jason Scott and the late Tony Diaz from a 22-year-old 3.5" floppy disk archive, a task that took most of a day and night, before Mechner published it here in September 2024.
