Super Mario Bros. is Nintendo's 1985 platform game for the NES, directed by Shigeru Miyamoto, in which the player guides Mario or Luigi through the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue Princess Toadstool. ReTux is a Python-based platformer clone inspired by Super Mario Bros., distributed as public-domain (CC0) source code that requires Python 3.8+ and its listed dependencies to run; frozen standalone executables can also be built with PyInstaller or cx_Freeze.
Getting started
If you download a build for your system, just run the included executable; to run from source you need Python 3.8 or later plus the packages listed in requirements.txt, installed via pip, after which you can start the game by running retux.py.
