About
Berserker@Quake2 Engine is a port of the Berserker@Quake2 engine (version 1.45) to the SDL2 library, running on Linux and Windows. It requires the player's own original Quake II game data (from the Steam release, retail CD, or the official 3.20 patch) to run, and it is no longer under active development.
Getting started
To run it, original Quake II data must be gathered from the Steam version or CD (plus the official 3.20 patch) and placed in a baseq2 folder inside a dedicated, writable game directory, alongside extra data the author distributes separately; the compiled engine executable and game library are then copied into that structure.
Known limitations
- performance: On Windows with NVIDIA graphics cards, threaded optimizations should be disabled as they dramatically decrease performance.

- Tip
- On Windows with an NVIDIA graphics card, disabling threaded optimizations for the game is recommended, since they can noticeably reduce performance.
