The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: 3 Open Source Clones Compared

Two of these are still work-in-progress decompilations rather than finished ports. The Ocarina of Time decompilation supports many original ROM revisions (NTSC and PAL N64 releases plus several GameCube and iQue re-releases) but remains unplayable while parts of the ROM aren't yet modifiable; the Ocarina of Time 3D decompilation currently only rebuilds the code.bin/oot3d.axf binaries — not the full romfs.bin/3DS package — and needs a Windows environment with the RVCT4.0 ARM toolchain just to build. Ship of Harkinian, by contrast, is already playable, running natively on Windows, Linux, macOS, Switch, and Wii U with its own .otr custom-asset system.
