About

Serious Sam: The Second Encounter is a 2002 first-person shooter by Croteam, the sequel to The First Encounter, following Sam "Serious" Stone as he seeks the Holy Grail after crash-landing back on Earth, fighting large waves of enemies with an expanding arsenal. Serious-Sam-Android is an Android port that runs Serious Sam Classic: The Second Encounter, requiring the player's own copy of the game's .gro data files (for example from Steam) copied onto the device. It can be compiled via Android Studio or the Android SDK/NDK command-line tools.

How it differs from the original

Runs on Android touchscreen devices rather than the original PC release, and requires the player to supply the original game's .gro data files themselves since no game assets are redistributed with the port.

Getting started

Locate your existing Serious Sam Classic: The Second Encounter install (such as via Steam), install the released APK, then copy the game's .gro files into a "SeriousSam" folder on the device's SD card before launching; the app will request storage permission the first time it runs.

Requires original assets. Requires .gro files from Serious Sam Classic The Second Encounter (Steam version) copied to device.
